Please contact IWPC if you have any questions.
We facilitate global knowledge-capital collaboration, delivering unfiltered real time insight into vital technology, market and ecosystem evolution. Our technology-neutral Community provides leadership to:
- Identify new markets, products & service opportunities
- Illuminate potential supply chain gaps
- Network with firsthand knowledge experts
for ALL things wireless.
We view the wireless industry in 3 basic market segments:
Portable/Mobile – includes portable and mobile devices and short-range radios (such as WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.)
Infrastructure – includes cellular basestations and networks (large and small cells), including backhaul for large and small cells.
MMWave/uWave/THz – includes a wide variety of applications which operate at 10 GHz or higher. IE: security sensors, uWave/mmWave communication links, backhaul radios, automotive radar, VSAT, 60 GHz PAN, imaging, etc.
Currently, the IWPC organizes ~10 workshops per year divided between the market segments we focus on, subsequently attracting global participation. We may do virtual workshops on an opportunistic basis typically during the summer months as vacations and holidays make summer face-to-face workshops challenging.
5. Where are these Workshops held?
Typically the workshops are held in Europe or North America. If it is for an important topic, there is the strong possibility of organizing workshops in other regions of the world, such as China, India, Korea, Japan, and other areas.
Only IWPC Members and specially invited guests are permitted to attend IWPC Workshops.
Further, we explicitly do not permit:
-
The Press
-
Consultants
-
Analysts
-
Third party sales reps
from attending IWPC Workshops.
We only permit persons with first hand technical or business knowledge to attend – as they have the most information to contribute to the discussion.
The IWPC seeks and requests ideas for workshop topics from many sources, including: frequent and ongoing conversations with Members, surveys at the end of each workshop, annual membership and carrier surveys, email input from Members, insight gained from attending major conferences and trade shows, and any other available sources.
Also, the IWPC Technical Advisory Panel provides further input into these topics and topic priorities.
If you have a workshop topic suggestion, please contact IWPC.
As a result of a Workshop, our Members may request that we continue a dialog on a particular topic after the workshop has been completed.
IF a topic can be supported with the proper leadership, statement of work, deliverables, schedules, etc – the IWPC will consider setting up a Working Group, made up of Leadership and others who want to continue this dialog.
Often, the work of these Working Groups leads to White Papers, Best Practices Documents, or Requirements Documents submitted to other “Standards” organizations and/or future workshops.
You can see the current list of Active Working Groups by clicking on the Working Groups Tab on the Home Page.
If you have a Working Group suggestion, please contact IWPC.
We continuously work to send our e-mails only to the individuals that want to receive them.
We send them to members and individuals who have expressed interest in one of our events or activities as well as those who have requested information from us.
If an individual no longer wants to be informed about upcoming events or e-mails, they simply need to let us know.
There are two places in which to accomplish this:
If you have already registered on the IWPC website, you can go to the My Profile button on the top right corner of the Home Page.
Click on the IWPC Email – Filter tab. There, you can select the "No IWPC Email Notices" check box.
IWPC will be notified accordingly, and we will update your records.
From the Home page, you can click on the link Subscribe to Free IWPC Announcements in the lower left corner.

Similar to #10, you can accomplish this in the same two places:
If you have already registered on the IWPC website, you can go to the My Profile button on the top right corner of the Home Page.
Click on the IWPC Email – Filter tab.
There, you can select the checkboxes pertaining to the topics that interest you. IWPC will be notified accordingly, and we will update your records.

Through this website, you will find information on Members, information on how to join the IWPC, one of the most complete Wireless Industry Calendars of Events in the world, information on upcoming IWPC events, a very complete Acronym dictionary, a thorough list of Useful Links, and, of course, our Research Library. While all the information is available to our members, quite a lot of information is available to everyone, based on your Registration status.
The IWPC is a technology neutral, non-political industry forum for open interactive discussion across the entire supply chain.
Anything that members say at a workshop is entirely voluntary and will be considered non-confidential. A warning to this effect is given at the beginning of every workshop.
If any member inadventently provides some confidential information, that member should let the IWPC know, and such material will be deleted from the recordings.
Therefore, responsibility for maintaining the confidentiality of any individual members’ trade secrets or confidential information rests SOLELY with each member, and each member indemnifies IWPC and holds it harmless against the inadvertent publication of such confidential information.
Since the IWPC does not create formal technical specifications, there is no requirement for members to provide licenses to any patents, and no patent licenses are granted to the members of IWPC.
Any material that a member contributes to the IWPC for inclusion in IWPC documents or IWPC materials will be provided with a copyright license from such member to the IWPC to reproduce, publish, distribute, display and to prepare derivative works of such contributions.
IWPC was founded in 1998, and the primary theme at that time was focused on Wireless Packaging. In fact, the acronym IWPC stands for International Wireless Packaging Consortium.
Starting in 2005, we branched out to address contemporary Wireless topics that were important to our Members and the ENTIRE wireless industry supply chain.
We changed our name to: International Wireless Industry Consortium, but kept the acronym IWPC, since everyone knew us by that name.
The IWPC is a unique organization. It brings together - in a collaborative and non-confrontational environment – senior representatives of the entire wireless supply chain.
Workshop topics are deliberately chosen to expose big issues of the current scene.
One might think that this potentially volatile mix of people and issues would result in an awkward, sterile environment.
However, the IWPC informal workshop format has quite the opposite effect; it leads to a level of trust and honest dialogue between delegates which rarely happens in commercial industry conferences, where corporate messaging often rules supreme.
We do not sell exhibition space or accept sponsorship to speak. We do not allow press, media, or analysts to attend as well.
Our members consistently find that we provide a tremendous value to them.
To find out if your company is an IWPC Member company, please click on the Members List navigation button on the Home Page.

Membership fees are dependent on the Thrusts your company is interested in and is scaled based on the annual revenues of your company.

The IWPC creates a very rare opportunity for the entire supply chain to dialog, giving everyone an opportunity to understand the needs of their customers and their suppliers.
IWPC Workshops are run in a highly interactive format to maximize questions and answers between all parties. We use the “Socratic Method” to encourage Q&A.
Workshops are limited to 100 people maximum; we have found that if we have too many people in the room, the level of interactability is reduced.
The workshop time is split up into roughly 3 equal segments: Approximately 1/3 of the time is spent on Presentations, 1/3 of the time is spent on Q&A, and 1/3 of the time is spent on Social Interaction.
Only firsthand knowledge experts are permitted in the workshop. This, along with the informal “Socratic Method”, leads to a level of trust and honest dialogue between delegates which rarely happens in commercial industry workshops.
Many members tell us that what they learn in two days at an IWPC workshop would have taken 6 months or more to learn on their own.
All of the information presented at all IWPC Workshops is available for members in the IWPC Research Library shortly after the completion of each Workshop.
We also take 'recordings' of all of the presentations – showing the slides synchronized with all of the speaker and audience audio.
Watching these recordings is essentially the same as sitting in the audience.
To view this content, please be sure to complete your Level 2 Registration on the Website. This will give you the credentials to access the Research Library.
The first step is for your company to become an IWPC Member.
Contact IWPC for details.
Once your company is an active IWPC Member and you have a Level 2 Registration on the IWPC Website, you can get access to the Research Library – based on the status of your Membership.
